Repo Man

Repo Man was one those punk 80's films that as a kid I always wanted to pick up whenever I went to Blockbuster. Of course due to violence and it's rating, I was never allowed to get it and so I forgot about it for about ten years. Now I am watching it and I see that Repo Man is one bizarre film that some people no doubt will not like but I really enjoyed it. In fact, I already have it on my rewatch list and it is on my list of favorite films from the 80's.
Repo Man is the strange story of a washed-up teenager named Otto (Emilio Estevez) who gets a job as a repo man. In his town, people start disappearing after opening a trunk to a car that is worth a lot of money. Otto and his co-worker Bud (Harry Dean Stanton) then try to figure out what is really going on with this car. The film is original but also bizarre which makes this movie so special. The film is kind of crazy every step of the way. It also has really good ending that is really strange in a good way. It is an ending that is shocking and works real well in wrapping things up.
The characters and actors also work really well. Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton make two good leads. There is also a good supporting cast and original characters.
The plot really got my attention. It is creative, interesting and works really well in combining good actors and characters. Putting this all together makes a really good film.
Some weak parts of this movie is that there are some unanswered questions and I lost a little of interest in the film because of this. Also there are random characters and details thrown in that appear to be not needed. These are relatively small flaws but they slow down the film and bring it down a little.
As a big fan of 80's movies, this film caught my attention for lot of reasons. It is original, interesting and strange in a good way. It also has a lot of good characters and actors and it is never gets boring. It is something of a cult film but is still a good film. The film seems "confident" which is a credit to the director and no doubt a main reason why this is such a good film.
